The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) 100-index fell 602.70 points, or 1.49 percent, to close at 39,720.75, down from 40,323.45 points the previous day.
A total of 105,542,468 shares were traded during the day, compared to 173,264,646 shares the previous day, and the share price was Rs 3.203 billion, compared to Rs 4.628 billion on the previous trading day.
In total, 314 companies traded their shares on the stock exchange, with 65 recording gains and 228 suffering losses, while the share price of 21 companies remained unchanged.
WorldCall Telecom, Hascol Petrol, and Lotte Chemical were the top three trading businesses, each with 8,960,962 shares at Rs 1.14 per share, Rs 6.58 per share, and Rs 28.03 per share, respectively.
Shahtaj Textile experienced the greatest increase in share price, rising by Rs 5.90 to close at Rs 104.90, while Archroma Pak came in second with a rise of Rs 4.92 to close at Rs 439.92.
