FAWAD CHAUDRY, THE PTI LEADER WAS ARRESTED

According to his relatives, PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry was detained outside his Lahore home in the early hours of Wednesday.


According to Faisal Chaudhry, "He was carried away from outside his residence at 5:30am in four automobiles without any number plates."


He claimed that Fawad's location was unknown to the family. Additionally, "We are not given any information on the FIR (first information report) filed against him."


Faisal referred to his brother's arrest as "illegal" and stated that he will pursue legal action.

A half-hour after he and several party members gathered in front of PTI Chairman Imran Khan's Zaman Park mansion in Lahore, Fawad was arrested. claiming to stop what is allegedly a government-planned arrest of the party leader.

According to the FIR, Fawad warned the Election Commission, its members, and their families in his speech outside Imran Khan's residence in Lahore.

On the basis of the complaint of Secretary of the Election Commission Umar Hameed, a first information report has been filed against the PTI leader at the Kohsar police station in Islamabad.


A copy of the complaint, which alleges violations of the Pakistan Penal Code's sections 153-A (promotion of hatred between groups), 506 (criminal intimidation), 505 (statement conducive to public mischief), and 124-A (sedition), 


It claimed that Chaudhry threatened the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and declared that "those who become part of the caretaker administration [in Punjab] will be pursued till they are punished" in a speech delivered in front of PTI Chairman Imran Khan's home.

Fawad attempted to "incite violence against a constitutional institution" and "inflame the people's sentiments," the Islamabad police claimed in a later tweet.


Earlier, in the early hours of Wednesday, thousands of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers gathered outside PTI chief Imran Khan's residence in Zaman Park, Lahore, to protect their leader from arrest by Punjab police.


Thousands of PTI workers, including women and children, as well as the party's top leadership, flocked to Zaman Park in response to a call issued via the PTI's official Twitter account.
